Academic Excellence Through Strategic Partnership
The Express Hockey Academy operate in direct academic partnership with School District 43 (Coquitlam) and Apex Inquiry Hub to provide a flexible and supportive academic model tailored to high‑performance athletes. This partnership ensure students can prioritize their education while fully participating in daytime training and travel.
Athletes in our program can pursue their education through several flexible academic options:
- Grades 7 & 8 Attend Como Lake Middle School
- Grades 9 – 12 Attend Port Moody SecondaryÂ
- Grades 9 – 12 French Immersion attend Charles Best Secondary
- Remain at their current school: Students may continue at their existing school—inside or outside SD43—provided the school can accommodate their academic schedule and program needs
- Online Learning:Â Complete coursework through online learning
Dedicated academic advisors and support staff help athletes stay on track in the classroom and maintain strong academic standing throughout the season. Students receive all required courses to graduate with a Grade 12 diploma and are supported in pursuing NCAA scholarship opportunities.
Balanced Schedule That Supports the Whole Athlete
Our training model is intentionally designed to balance academics, on‑ice development, and dryland training without overwhelming the student‑athlete. With structured daytime training and flexible academic pathways, athletes maintain strong progress in the classroom while still having time for family, hobbies, social activities, and proper recovery. The schedule supports high performance without sacrificing balance, ensuring athletes can thrive both in school and in life beyond the rink.
