Tri-city Express

Take Your Development to the Next Level

Welcome to the Tri-city Express

The Tri-city Express is built for female athletes who want a high‑performance environment that elevates skill, mindset, athleticism, and confidence at every stage of their journey. Our athletes progress through a unified development pathway designed to build complete players—and strong, empowered young women.

We offer an academy-style structure that prioritizes both high-performance hockey and academic success. The schedule, training model, and support systems are designed to help athletes grow without compromising their education.

To develop skilled, confident, resilient female athletes through elite coaching, high performance training environments, so they may succeed on the ice, in the classroom and in everyday life.

To create a development pathway where every athlete is equipped to reach their highest potential – building skilled players, strong students and confident young leaders.

Development

We strive for constant improvement – on the ice, in the classroom and as people.

Leadership

We lead through integrity, respect and responsibility in every environment.

Excellence

We pursue high standards in performance, academics and personal conduct.

Accountability

We take ownership of our actions, our preparation and our commitment to the team.

Work Ethic

We bring effort, discipline and resilience in everything we do.

Exposure to the Next Level

Our teams compete in the Female Super League, a high-performance league where they play against top female athletes from across Western Canada. The FSL’s high-profile showcases offer exposure to scouts, teams, and next-level programs. The league has teams throughout Western Canada: BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

A Balanced, Athlete-Centered Schedule

The FSL’s reduced travel demands and weekend-focused competition calendar allow players to train more, recover better, and stay engaged in the classroom — a perfect fit for our student-athlete philosophy.

Progressive Body Checking

Beginning at 14U, athletes learn how to engage physically with proper technique, confidence, and safety.

Alignment With Junior Hockey Standards

The league mirrors the expectations and environment of junior hockey, preparing athletes for the BCHL and beyond. This includes professional coaching, structured development plans, and access to high-level facilities.

A League That Shares Our Values

The FSL’s commitment to safety, development, and long-term athlete success aligns directly with the mission of the Tri-city Express: to build confident, capable, academically strong young people through the sport they love.

The Tri-city Express offers a comprehensive development program tailored to elevate student-athletes’ skills, knowledge, and performance. With a focus on holistic growth, we prepare players for the demands of elite hockey and beyond.

Athletes will train a minimum of four times per week, featuring back-to-back ice and gym sessions on the same day two to three times a week. This holistic approach builds strength, endurance, and skill while fostering both mental and physical development.

Athletes play a minimum of 30 league games as well as an in-season tournament and a playoff series.

Our program includes 2–3 hours per week of off-ice strength and conditioning at the Express Performance Centre, led by our dedicated Strength & Conditioning Coach.

The Express Performance Centre is a fully equipped training environment built to support the strength, conditioning, and recovery needs of our student-athletes. With access to free weights, cardio machines, resistance equipment, and functional training zones, players have everything they need to train year-round. This setup allows for personalized programs, structured team sessions, and efficient recovery routines—all guided by our experienced performance staff.
